KJM fellowship scholar

This scholarship will give you a salary while you complete a higher research degree with an Australian University.

Grant

Scholarship payment of salary for 3 years.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be employed under the Queensland Ambulance Service Act 1991
  • not have received the KJM fellowship scholar before
  • have endorsement from your region's Assistant Commissioner
  • have approval from the QAS Medical Director.

How to apply

This grant is awarded once every 3 years, with the next grant included in our 2024 application round.

We’ll share information about the application criteria and deadlines with our staff internally.

Patron's research grant

This grant is our major research award.

One of the main goals of research at this level is to produce results that can be directly applied to a service.

Your research proposal must be well defined, align with the priorities in our research and innovation agenda [PDF 1232.76 KB] and be relevant to one of the following areas.

  • Clinical practice
  • System performance
  • Supporting people
  • Service potential

You must be able to identify the benefits to paramedicine or our operations, and how they can be applied to the service.

The funds can be distributed across a 12 to 24 month period.

Grant

Up to $20,000.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be employed under the Queensland Ambulance Service Act 1991
  • not have received the KJM Patron’s Grant before
  • have endorsement from your Assistant Commissioner
  • have approval from the QAS Medical Director.

  • your research proposal, with information about the research and project team
  • written evidence of support, such as an email, from your region's Assistant Commissioner and the QAS Medical Director
  • a statement about the expected benefits
  • a budget and timeline estimates.

Research development grant

This grant is supported by Spectrum Data Systems International (SDSI) for one or more uniformed staff to do a short but well defined piece of research.

$3,000.

You must:

  • not have received the grant before
  • have endorsement from your Assistant Commissioner.
