Acknowledging excellence is a key priority for the KJM Foundation.

Supported by the United Workers Union, this grant encourages graduates to aim for excellence during their time in our graduate program.

Eligibility

Paramedics who are currently doing, or have completed the QAS graduate induction program in the previous year.

Judging criteria

Part of the judging criteria is demonstrating:

  • a broad and comprehensive knowledge of the subjects in the education program
  • application to competency achievement of program skills
  • team skills and maintaining positive relationships with work colleagues
  • exceptional skills and a commitment to excellence and work ethic
  • consistent outstanding performance throughout your studies
  • continuing professional development
  • quality patient care.

You should also have:

  • promoted and looked for opportunities to mentor, coach or help other students with their competency development and improvement
  • displayed leadership abilities when working with colleagues and peers
  • been a role model for colleagues and peers
  • carried out your duties with diligence, integrity, and delivering efficient service in a way that reflects the expected conduct of a QAS member.

Nominations

You can be nominated by your educators and immediate supervisors.

The grant recipient is then chosen by a panel chaired by our education and development manager after an assessment process.
