Our culture of respect

We want people who work with us to have positive and safe experiences. We don’t tolerate inappropriate behaviour, such as sexual and non-sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination.

QAS RESPECT framework

Step up, Stamp out and Promote RESPECT

To help us improve our culture and promote respect in the workplace, we developed a QAS RESPECT framework [PDF 211.69 KB]. It empowers all our staff to ‘step up’ and ‘stamp out’ any wrong behaviour they see or experience.

A safe and positive workplace for everyone

Providing a safe and supportive workplace is everyone’s responsibility.

We have a peer support program and free counselling for anyone experiencing inappropriate behaviour.

We also offer training and coaching to help you deal with specific incidents and speak up if you’re a bystander.

RESPECT groups and networks

Support officers

We have RESPECT officers across the state to help you deal with inappropriate behaviour. They'll also help you understand the formal and informal ways you can resolve an issue.

Our officers are part of our Fair and Inclusive Practice Network (FIPN) and what you talk about is confidential.

Steering committee

Our steering committee directs RESPECT policies, plans and activities. Members include our Commissioner, staff, region managers and a United Workers Union representative.

Working group

Share your ideas and feedback with our working group. This group supports our steering committee and helps us make choices that benefit staff.
