You must complete a full medical assessment with an approved Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) medical provider, as part of our clinical placement requirements.
Follow these steps to complete your medical assessment.
Step 1: Immunisations
Before your medical assessment you must meet our immunisation requirements.
Evidence of your immunisations will be required by the QAS medical provider, in some instances, prior to your appointment being confirmed.
Read more about immunisation requirements.
Step 2: Book
Please select your preferred QAS medical provider from the table below and fill in their online booking form. You will need to provide more than one appointment time preferences when booking—the assessment takes around 2 to 3 hours to complete.

Step 3: Pay
Make your payment to the QAS Medical Provider you have chosen. Once paid, the provider will email you confirmation of your appointment.
If you have any questions about payment, please contact your provider directly.
Step 4: Prepare
The provider will send you an email with information about
- your appointment details and location
- what to bring to your assessment
- other relevant details.
Read this email as soon as possible so you have time to gather all the relevant records to bring with you. You should also read our medical standards for paramedics [PDF 218.87 KB] and medical assessment form [PDF 280.16 KB] before your appointment so you can answer questions about your health, medical history and vaccinations.
Step 5: Attend your appointment
Attend your scheduled appointment, allowing up to 3 hours of time to complete the assessment.
Each provider has fees for missed, cancelled, or rescheduled appointments. Please contact the provider directly for more information about these policies
Step 6: Results
Your medical outcome will be sent to you via email within 2 business days of your assessment.
You can give the results to your clinical placement coordinator or work integrated learning unit.
If you get ill or injured after your medical assessment, you’ll need to do another one before you can do your placement.
