Types of roles

We employ people in the following types of roles. Your role classification and pay level will depend on the type of work you do, your experience, skills and qualifications.

Administrative Officer (AO)

This is an administration or corporate support role, and includes jobs in human resources, finance, policy, information technology, communications and advisory services.

Professional Officer (PO)

These roles usually need a degree or equivalent experience and qualifications. They may have practitioner or specialist duties, or belong to a profession, such as a counsellor.

Technical Officer (TO)

These positions need a diploma, advanced diploma or equivalent. They support our professional officers, and may work in a trade, for example as an automotive technician.

Operational Officer (OO)

These positions work in different areas that need functional skills.
