PERFORM CPR (PCPR)
Queensland Ambulance Service accredited Perform CPR program is a 2 hour course that delivers training that is concise, practical and relevant to the medical industry.
Course Duration: 2 hours
Location: Major centres around Queensland
Attendees: This course may be attended as either a general public course or by arranging a private course fr medical professionals only.

ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT (ACLS)
The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course is aimed at refreshing the knowledge of Medical Professionals (primarily General Practitioner’s) to specific elements of advanced airway management and cardiac arrest management. The participant will be able to use these advanced skills with an understanding of cardiac arrest management techniques and its significance in the pre-hospital setting.
This course is taught by experienced Intensive Care Paramedics with a ratio of 1 instructor to every 6 participants and a maximum of 12 participants to each course. The course is focussed on delivering 'hands on' practice of advanced techniques and includes the use of advanced airway management manikins, 12 Lead ECG monitors, IV training arms plus consumables such as LMA, ETT, cannulas etc.
Outline of Course Content: -
- Introduction to emergency management of the cardiac patient
- Theory of airway management including:
- ETT
- LMA
- Oxygenation and IPPV
- ECG and Arrhythmias
- Defibrillation
- Vascular Access
- Special Resuscitation for the following patients;
- asthmatic
- trauma
- overdose
- drowning
- anaphylactic
- Pharmacology for the emergency cardiac patient
Pre-course: Prior to attending, participants receive pre-course material to assist in them in preparing for the course.
Course Duration: Nominal 8.5 hours face to face, one hour pre-course reading + post course reflective questionnaire.
Location: Beenleigh, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Townsville and Mount Isa
Attendees: This course is only available to high level Medical Professionals such as General Practitioneers. It is not a general public course.
