First aid training with Queensland Ambulance Service can provide people with the skills, knowledge and confidence to assist an injured or ill person until our paramedics or other medical profesionals arrive on the scene.
Parents, Bubs and Toddlers First Aid Awareness Program - $47.20
Each year in Queensland alone, over 15,500 children aged under 15 years present at hospitals for injuries sustained in the home, yard or garden*. Around 15% of these children require admission to hospital. Almost 40% of backyard injuries are associated with falls. Other major causes include cuts, incidents with animals and bike accidents.
The Queensland Ambulance Service now has a first aid course aimed at parents, grandparents and carers of babies and children. Let’s face it, all children are accident prone!! The course is designed to give you the basic skills in applying first aid including performing CPR, the treatment of burns, cuts, choking, croup, febrile convulsions, allergies and more.
This course will give you ‘peace of mind’ when caring for your little ones and you will walk away with the invaluable knowledge and skills in applying first aid treatment in any situation.

Non Accredited Training
For those people who do not need to have a qualification or do not want to attend a practical assessment session, Queensland Ambulance Service is offering non-accredited first aid training for its Apply First Aid, Perform CPR and Provide Basic Emergency Life Support courses. The training is the same, the only difference is you do not need to attend a practical session with an instructor, you simply complete the theory components to give you the grounding skills in performing first aid.
